The Career Boosting Role of Malin Akerman in Watchmen

If you have seen the poster of the movie Watchmen, your attention was probably captured by a long-haired woman (in yellow and black skin-tight outfit) who’s standing at the middle. She is Malin Akerman, a Swedish actress who plays Silk Spectre II in the movie adaptation of the famous graphic novel of the same title.

Malin Akerman raised some eyebrows and drew some chuckles when she said in a magazine interview that it wasn’t her revealing costume that bothered her—instead, she was more concerned with the discomfort issue. Not only that, Akerman said her latex costume smelled like a “human condom”. Whatever she meant by that statement, the Watchmen fans and critics could only guess.

Her role as a crime fighter required her to do various stunts, which she learned with the help of the production’s fight coordinators. To prepare for her role, Akerman underwent fight training and physical training for two months before the shooting started.

Malin Akerman has a memorable role in Watchmen since it is considered one of the sexiest superheroes of all time. Of course, she bares her skin and has a steamy, explicit love scene with co-star Patrick Wilson (Nite Owl II) in the movie.
